I am Refaya Turshin, a Toronto based photographer whose work focuses hybrid photography and combining other interdisciplinary to photography. My work explores interrelationship between Fashion, Photography, and Architecture.
I experiment with mixed with media/medium in my work which includes, glass, Japanese silk, chiffon, or cotton fabric, recycled garments and materials, wood, hemp, etc.
My most common practise of medium is exploring movement of my photographs of architectural structures, by printing them on Japanese silk organza. One garment, in one body, viewed, angled. and styled in many different ways... as an architectural figure would.
I graduated OCAD University, completing her Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Photography .
